Robyn Skerrett Speech Pathologist B. of Speech Path. , Master of Mental Health (Infant) MSPA
Robyn Skerrett graduated from the University of Queensland gained a Masters of Infant Mental Health from the N.S.W. Institute of Psychiatry.She offers a range of Speech Pathology interventions for children up to the age 18 years in the Brisbane and regional areas. (See Therapy Tab).Robyn is prepared to travel to rural areas to support families who are accessing FaHCSIA funding for a child with a diagnosis of Autism. She has developed a clinic at Roma and visits on a monthly basis, where she sees a number of families in the district. Some of these children aralready being seen by local Speech Pathologists who appreciate the added support with children with a diagnosis of Autism.Robyn has worked in varied clinical settings on the East coast of Australia and overseas, both in Britain and Asia including hospital, community, disabilities, school and mental health settings. She has a strong interest in children with Autism Spectrum disorder and is trained in a battery of therapy programs (See tab) to work with children prior to and after diagnosis of ASD.
Robyn also has a strong interest in working with children who have mental health concerns. She works closely with a team consisting of a Psychiatrist and Psychologist to assess and support children whose capacity to function in the school and home setting is impacted on by possible language delays and disorders.
